Tactical Emergency medical services (TEMS) is out-of-hospital care given in hostile situations. Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is intended to treat potentially preventable causes of death on the battlefield, but acknowledges that application of these treatments may place the provider and even the mission in jeopardy if performed at the wrong time. Thus, such trainings are very relevant for Ukraine.The relevance of this project grows every day, because every day Russia continues and strengthens its aggression. Also this project is highly relevant for youth because ukrainian universities are being shelled in different regions, not only in the frontline zone, but throughout Ukraine all the time. Taking into account the present danger to health and livelihood among Higher Education Stakeholders, we deem it necessary to educate the citizens in general and the students in particular on the basics of rendering first aid. In order to achieve this goal, the UAS together with the Ukrainian Army volunteer medics, who provided their expertise in tactical medicine to those in need.
Our main goal was to equip the participants of the training with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in first aid treatments and with tool for dealing with emergency situatios. The slogan of our project brightly represents our approach and our intention: "a chance for one to save millions". Our aims in this endeavour are to educate and protect. By fulfilling the one, we accomplished the other. By educating citizens and stakeholders in first aid treatments, we aim to reduce civilian anxiety levels, while simultaneously raising the readiness level of citizens, enabling them to respond adequately and calmly to a medical emergency.
